Gargoyles was probably my favorite Disney Afternoon show.

True story: I was a Disney Store cast member my senior year of high school and I had to once explain what Gargoyles was to a woman who was confused as to why such “evil” looking action figures were being sold at the store. I explained that these characters were in fact the good guys. They suffered prejudice because they were different, and that the show actually had some great takes on mythology, history, and Shakespeare, as well as a kick-ass female main character. I’m not sure if I convinced her that Gargoyles was a brilliant show, but I’ll always remember that moment of “defending” the show to someone.  

And that’s my Gargoyles story.

These drawings are amazing and terrifying. And how could anyone forget this show?? It was amazing!! I was pretty obsessed.
